Dental implants are a wonderful option when replacing a missing tooth or teeth. An implant is a titanium cylinder that is placed into the jaw bone to act as a replacement tooth root. It looks and functions like a natural tooth.
Dr. Griffin and the staff at Lake Bluff Dental specialize in dental implants. We use a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) to make a 3-D x-ray picture of the jaws. Then, a customized surgical template is fabricated by Dr. Griffin to ensure the implant is placed ideally anatomically and functionally.
Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns (caps) are used to restore teeth that have previously had a large filling or have fractured. We take time to ensure your crowns blend in with the rest of your teeth and feel comfortable with your bite.
A bridge can be used when a tooth is missing. It involves crowns on the neighboring teeth that support a new tooth in the area of the missing tooth. A bridge is a nice option for patients who would prefer not to have a dental implant or may not be a good candidate for an implant.
Veneers are used to improve the appearance of teeth due to shade, positioning, or size. Most veneers involve a conservative preparation of the front surface of the tooth before placement of the porcelain veneer. We complete a mock up of veneers before preparing the teeth to minimize the preparation needed. Our lab technician carefully selects the shade of the veneers to create a beautiful, natural outcome.
implant dentures and partials
Dental implants allow for more stable and comfortable dentures and partials. Many patients who have lived with uncomfortable dentures and partials finally find relief with dental implants.
traditional dentures and partials
Traditional dentures are partials are a cost-effective way of replacing teeth. A complete denture is supported by your gum tissue while a partial denture is supported by teeth and gum tissue.
tooth colored fillings
The majority of dental fillings placed at Lake Bluff Dental are tooth colored. We are committed to using the best available materials to provide a long-lasting, strong, and esthetic filling. Tooth colored fillings can be placed on front or back teeth and can match your existing tooth shade for a seamless appearance.
full mouth rehabilitation
A full-mouth rehabilitation refers to the process of rebuilding or replacing most or all of the teeth in a patient’s mouth due to decay, cracked or broken teeth, severe wear, or some genetic conditions. This process may include crowns, bridges, implants, or removable dentures. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Griffin specializes in rebuilding and replacing teeth and can evaluate whether a full mouth rehabilitation is needed. Full mouth reconstructions combine esthetics with the science of restorative dentistry to improve the health, function, and beauty of the mouth.
